My most personal interview
In June 2026, the magazine El Observatorio published an extensive interview about my story. It is one of the most complete and personal interviews I have given so far, because it brings together not only the judicial and documentary path of the case, but also the intimate, traumatic and emotional dimension of the search for my identity.
Legal media
The most relevant legal coverage of the case was published on 5 February 2026 in the legal outlet Law & Trends, which analysed the judgment from a technical point of view.
The article, titled "A pioneering judgment confirms dual filiation, biological and adoptive", focuses on the legal scope of the ruling, its novel character and its practical consequences. The piece develops, in legal terms, a previous news agency report by EFE, which acts as the primary source of the facts.
News agencies and cascade effect
The January 2026 news cycle began with a press release issued by the affected person after the update of his surnames on the Spanish ID card. The release was distributed on the morning of 20 January 2026 and led that same day to multiple direct contacts from different media outlets.
Those media outlets included Europa Press, El Mundo – Diario de Valladolid, Diario de Navarra and El Correo. From those first contacts, a cascade effect followed, with publications in print media, radio and television linked to the new fact of the effective restitution of the surnames on the ID card.
That cycle also included interviews and news pieces in media such as SER, Vive Radio, RTVE and CyLTV.
Early news
Before the news cycle that began in January 2026, on 19 September 2025 Jot Down published the article "The right to recover biological surnames and keep adoption", signed by Iván Gastañaga.
It is an opinion and analysis piece whose interest lies in its deeper reflection on the case, dual filiation and its legal, identity-related and social implications.
The most relevant media precedent is the investigative article published by Público on 4 July 2025, titled "An unprecedented judgment restores biological filiation to a man adopted through a stolen-babies network", signed by Ana María Pascual.
That piece addressed the case in greater depth and had special impact because of its approach. Later, the article was removed from the outlet's website, in a process of self-censorship that also forms part of the media history of the case.
